This role oversees the day-to-day of programs and ensures alignment with broader organizational priorities and the Feeding America network. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the VP of Impact translates strategic direction into effective, measurable programs that expand access to food, improve nutrition, and strengthen community outcomes. The role is accountable for program performance, agency-level effectiveness, and continuous improvement across the Food Bank’s impact portfolio.

Job responsibilities

1. Strategy Execution & Performance Management
• Translate the Food Bank’s strategic plan and Feeding America priorities into clear program goals, implementation plans, and measurable outcomes
• Drive execution against annual and multi-year impact targets
• Monitor performance and adjust strategies to ensure progress toward key outcomes
• Provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership on program performance and community impact

2. Program Management & Operational Excellence
• Lead the execution of all programs, including Child Nutrition, Senior Grocery, Food is Medicine, Community Services, Mobile Market and other agency support
• Ensure programs are within budget, efficient, scalable, and consistently delivered with quality and dignity
• Identify and implement improvements to increase reach, effectiveness, and client outcomes
• Support the development and rollout of new initiatives aligned with organizational priorities

3. Agency Relations and Management
• Oversee relationships with partner agencies and community-based organizations
• Strengthen agency performance through standards, training, resource alignment, and accountability measures
• Ensure equitable distribution of resources and services across the service area
• Collaborate with agency partners to improve service delivery and better meet community needs

4. Data & Continuous Improvement
• Implement and manage systems to track output and outcome metrics aligned with Feeding America standards
• Use data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
• Support a culture of data-informed decision-making and accountability across the impact team
• Partner with leadership to align reporting with donor and network requirements

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with Development Team to ensure programs are aligned with funding opportunities and grant requirements
• Collaborate with Operations to coordinate program delivery and food distribution logistics
• Work with Finance to monitor program budgets and ensure responsible resource utilization
• Support organizational alignment around shared goals and priorities

6. Community Engagement & Partnerships
• Maintain and grow relationships with key local stakeholders (healthcare providers, schools, community organizations, and government agencies)
• Represent the Food Bank in community meetings, coalitions, and collaborative initiatives
• Support participation in Feeding America initiatives and peer learning opportunities

7. Team Leadership & Culture
• Lead and develop a high-performing Impact team, including program, partnership, and data functions
• Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and provide coaching and development
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Promote values of equity, respect, and service in all aspects of program delivery

Application qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required (Public Health, Social Work, Public Administration, Nutrition, Policy, or related field)
• 8–10+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit, public sector, or mission-driven organizations
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing complex programs or portfolios
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects/events and adhere to deadlines in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical skills with experience using data to guide strategy and measure outcomes
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers and employees, both in person and via electronic correspondence.
• Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• This position requires some work in the evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in food access, nutrition, public health, social services, or benefits access
• Familiarity with funder compliance, reporting requirements, and Feeding America network or affiliate standards
• Experience working with boards, executive leadership, and cross-functional teams
