Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively Announce Support for Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund

March 17, 2020

Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, is pleased to announce a gift from Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively of $500,000 in support of our COVID-19 Response Fund. The fund was established on March 13, 2020 to help member food banks across the country as they support communities impacted by the pandemic.

“We are so grateful for Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s extremely generous donation, and for all of the donations we’ve been receiving,” said Dan Nisbet, vice president of major gifts at Feeding America. “The Feeding America network of 200 food banks is working tirelessly to aid and provide meal assistance to our most vulnerable neighbors — children, the elderly, families struggling with food insecurity and individuals facing job disruptions — throughout our nation during this unprecedented time. Generosity like theirs will make all the difference.”

The Feeding America network of food banks provides emergency food assistance to more than 40 million people annually. Food banks across the country are preparing for dramatic increases in demand as a result of the pandemic response efforts, including school and business closure.

Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund will enable food banks to quickly and effectively secure the resources they need to serve the most vulnerable members of their communities. Anyone interested in supporting efforts nationwide can make a donation to the Feeding America COVID-19 Response Fund by going to feedingamerica.org.  For anyone wanting to help their local community more directly, Feeding America also has a food bank locator on their website that gives food bank information based on a zip code.
