Feeding America has named Laura Juergens chief human resources officer and Lisa Mann chief development officer, effective September 1. In these roles, Juergens and Mann will help advance Feeding America’s mission and strategic goals by strengthening the organization’s people strategy and philanthropic growth.
“Laura and Lisa bring integrity, deep expertise, trusted leadership and a strong commitment to neighbors,” said Denis McDonough, Feeding America chief executive officer. “As neighbors navigate higher food and energy costs, and changes to federal nutrition programs, Feeding America needs strong leadership both in how we support our people and how we grow the resources that make our work possible. Laura and Lisa are exactly the kind of leaders we need for the work ahead.”
As chief human resources officer, Juergens will lead Feeding America’s human resources strategy and serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Executive Team on key organizational and management issues. She will lead all aspects of human resources in support of Feeding America’s strategic direction and help drive engagement and performance across the organization.
For more than 12 years, Juergens has helped build Feeding America human resources programs, policies and practices that support staff well-being and foster an environment of inclusion and belonging. She led the development and implementation of Feeding America’s benefits strategy and policies that supported staff through major events including COVID-19 and continue to meet the evolving needs of team members and their families.
“It is an honor to step into this role and continue supporting the people who make Feeding America’s mission possible,” said Juergens. “I look forward to building on the strong foundation we have created together and advancing human resources strategies that help our employees thrive, strengthen our culture and support our work alongside people facing hunger and the Feeding America network.”
Juergens has nearly 30 years of experience in human resources across health care and not-for-profit organizations. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Indiana State University, a Master of Science in industrial and organizational psychology from IUPUI and a Bachelor of Science in psychology and business administration from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
As chief development officer, Mann will lead Feeding America’s philanthropic strategy and fundraising operations in support of a vision of America where everyone has access to the food and resources they need to thrive. She will be responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, strengthening fundraising capacity across the Feeding America network and fostering a culture of philanthropy that advances the organization’s mission and long-term strategic goals.
Prior to assuming the chief development officer role, Mann served as vice president of development, overseeing Strategic Gifts, Planned Giving and Donor Engagement. She joined Feeding America in January 2026 and quickly helped strengthen fundraising strategy, donor engagement, team development and operational excellence.
Before joining Feeding America, Mann spent more than a decade at Cleveland Clinic, where she served as associate chair of philanthropy. During her tenure, she advanced enterprise fundraising strategy, developed high-performing teams and secured significant philanthropic support for one of the nation’s leading health care systems. Earlier in her career, she advised nonprofit organizations on campaign strategy and fundraising effectiveness as a consultant with CCS Fundraising.
Mann is passionate about developing leaders, strengthening donor relationships and helping organizations achieve ambitious goals through generosity and collaboration.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to help advance Feeding America’s mission through generosity, partnership and collaboration,” said Mann. “Philanthropy plays a critical role in creating lasting change, and I am excited to work with our teams, donors and network partners to strengthen the resources and relationships needed to help more people access the food and support they need to thrive.”
Mann holds a Master of Nonprofit Administration and Leadership from the Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University and a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of Richmond.
