Kimberly (Kim) Hamilton has been named Chief Impact Officer and a member of the Executive Team of Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization announced today.

In her role, Kim will lead programs in both the feeding and ending hunger realms, research, collective impact and nutrition. She also will be responsible for knowledge management.

“Kim is a senior executive with extensive experience developing complex strategies, building new programs, and working at the intersection of innovative programs, advocacy, and policy research,” said Diana Aviv, CEO of Feeding America. “Her background in executive leadership, partnership building, strategy and operations will serve her well in this work.”

Kim comes to Feeding America from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she served in a number of senior roles in their Global Policy & Advocacy division. During her time with the foundation, she led grant making programs and developed advocacy and program strategies to advance the foundation’s goals in a variety of fields, including development policy, financial services for the poor, agricultural development, family planning, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WSH). Her efforts brought more attention, resources, and action around the world to the foundation’s program priorities. Additionally, she oversaw division-wide operations, including grants management and training, and led the foundation’s Charitable Sector Support team, with a focus on strengthening the philanthropic sector and improving the impact of investments for social good.

Previously, Kim served as President of NetAid, a New York-based nonprofit, dedicated to raising awareness about global poverty. She led NetAid’s programs related to global education, Games for Change, and global citizenship training for young people around the country. Kim also has served as Director of Program Planning and External Relations at Migration Policy Institute, where she created the award-winning Migration Information Source, and as Senior Program Officer at Alcoa Foundation, focusing on issues related to the environment, nonprofit excellence, and community engagement.

Kim is a native of Maine.
