Feeding America statement on the Farm Bill

A nutritious meal is the foundation for everything in life, helping us show up for our families, our jobs and our communities. Right now, our neighbors facing hunger are working incredibly hard to provide for their loved ones but continued stubbornly high food prices are making it tougher to put healthy food on the table.

A bipartisan Farm Bill is our best chance to stand with both our neighbors facing hunger and the farmers who sustain America. National food programs like The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) must be a central part of the farm bill to ensure everyone has access to the food they deserve and to support our nation’s farmers.

Investing in these programs means fresh, nutritious food from farmers can reach families across the country. It ensures people have a lifeline during tough times and a bridge toward self-sufficiency.

We look forward to working with Congress to pass a bipartisan Farm Bill that ensures people in communities across the country have the stability and health they deserve to thrive. We can build strong, resilient communities when we all join together alongside our neighbors facing hunger and the farmers who feed our nation.
