Four-star Rating from Charity Navigator

July 23, 2012

Feeding America is proud to announce that it was recently awarded the coveted four star rating by Charity Navigator, the country's largest charity evaluator. It's the highest rating possible for any of the charities reviewed by the independent organization.

Charity Navigator said the highest rating was granted to Feeding America "for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency."

"Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way," wrote Ken Berger, President and CEO of Charity Navigator, in announcing the rating. "This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Feeding America from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust."

About a quarter of the over 5,000 charities evaluated by Charity Navigator receive the four star designation.

"We are honored to have received the highest rating from Charity Navigator and it shows that we have a real commitment to transparency of where our donor's donations go," said Vicki Escarra, President and CEO of Feeding America. "This rating along with our high efficiency rate is something that we take very seriously."
