Catherine Davis Named Chief Marketing and Communications Officer of Feeding America

Catherine Davis has been named Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (CMCO) of Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief and food rescue organization announced today. She will serve as a member of the organization’s Executive Team and report directly to Feeding America CEO Diana Aviv. Davis will be based in the national organization’s Chicago office starting November 21.

As CMCO, Davis will work to increase public awareness of hunger in the U.S. She also will be responsible for identifying innovative ways to engage the public in organization’s mission as well as enhance Feeding America’s reputation as one of the best-known and most-admired non-profit brands in the country.

Davis will oversee a team of more than two dozen marketing and communications professionals and multiple agency relationships. She will be responsible for leading brand strategy, strategic marketing and communications initiatives, including direct marketing, integrated communications, public relations, public service announcement campaigns, celebrity engagement, website development, digital and social media.

Davis will join Feeding America from Leo Burnett, where she oversaw the McDonald’s and Esurance businesses in the U.S. As an established leader in the field, she has overseen marketing for both clients and their agencies, including holding senior-level marketing positions at Diageo, Morgan Stanley and Discover Card. Her areas of marketing expertise include retail, consumer packaged goods and online businesses.

Davis was named one of Advertising Age’s Media Mavens in 2015 and Adweek's 2014 Media-All Stars. Active in social media, she has 20,000 Twitter followers and made Forbes' list of 100 Must-Follow Marketing Minds on Twitter 2014. She also has been featured in The Huffington Post, Fast Company, and Inc

Equally committed to her community, Davis has been a committee member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council for Sustainable Development and has served as a board member for Make-A-Wish America and The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
