As Chief Human Resources Officer, Laura leads Feeding America’s human resources strategy and serves as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Executive Team on key organizational and management issues. She oversees all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition and retention, professional development, organizational effectiveness, and total rewards management. Through this work, she supports Feeding America’s strategic direction while driving employee engagement and organizational performance.
Prior to becoming CHRO, Laura held several leadership roles within Feeding America’s Human Resources department. In these roles, she helped develop and strengthen human resources programs, policies, and practices that support employee well-being and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging. She also led the development and implementation of the organization’s benefits strategy, guiding employees through significant events such as the COVID-19 pandemic while continuing to adapt programs to meet the evolving needs of team members and their families.
Juergens brings nearly 30 years of human resources experience across the health care and nonprofit sectors. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Indiana State University, a Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from IUPUI, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Business Administration from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. She has also earned multiple professional certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management, WorldatWork, and PayrollOrg.
