
Eric Leventhal is a partner at Spencer Stuart, advising CEOs, CHROs, board directors and private equity investors on their most important leadership challenges and opportunities. His expertise includes Board and CEO succession and search, and the People, Organization and Culture aspects of M&A integration.
Eric has served in various leadership roles at Spencer Stuart, including Head of Americas with responsibility for the firm’s practices and offices in the region (North America and Latin America), Consumer Global Practice Leader, and member of the firm’s Nominating Committee to evaluate principal and partner promotions.
Prior to joining the firm in 2006, Eric was President of Evian North America (Danone), and SVP Marketing for the Dannon dairy business with responsibility for the company’s brand management, new product development, advertising, packaging, market research, and consumer affairs functions. Earlier in his career, he held marketing and general management positions at Kraft Foods, Coca-Cola, and Campbell Soup.
Eric served on the Feeding America board of directors for eight years (2005-2013). He served as Chairman of the Outcome Committee, establishing the long-term objectives for the organization; his committee established the “Missing Meal Gap” concept that provided a strategic framework not only for Feeding America, but also for the 200+ food banks in the U.S. Prior to Feeding America, he served on the board of Food Bank for Westchester.
Since 2016, Eric has served on the board of God’s Love We Deliver, a non-sectarian not for profit organization that prepares and delivers over 4 million medically tailored meals per year to New York City clients who are too sick to shop and cook for themselves. As the Chairman of the Nominating and Governance Committee, he helped diversify, renew and strengthen the board using a capability matrix and board effectiveness process which led to the recruitment of 12 new directors in three years.
Eric earned a B.A. in psychology at Tufts University, and an M.B.A. in marketing and management at Columbia Business School. He lives with his family in Westchester County, New York.
