Job responsibilities

Manage the Alabama facility and its distribution staff in the day-to-day operations of the FTGC foodbank. Manage all aspects of our Theodore warehouse operations, including warehouse associates, receiving, inventory, replenishment, order processing, food safety standards, general safety practices, and all other warehousing functions.
Actively work to identify opportunities to maximize operational efficiencies, fulfilling the mission of our distribution goals by conducting frequent analyses of our performance and industry trends.
Ensure implementation and documentation of operational, pest control, and safety requirements in accordance with Feeding America, AIB, and state and federal requirements.
Ensure the operations department maintains necessary communications with all departments to support our mission and public awareness of our activities.
Help to ensure optimum support to agencies, volunteers, and all other partners.
Oversee the inventory process, ensuring minimum product loss, maximum impact, and ability to produce required activity reports.
Oversee planning of pickup and delivery operations to make the most cost-effective use of resources.
Responsible for ensuring that the food bank is ready and able to respond to natural or man-made disasters affecting the Gulf Coast and carrying out disaster missions as applicable.

Oversee food sorting and boxing operations to meet strategic food distribution objectives efficiently.
Collaborate with Agency Relations staff to distribute products to meet government and Feeding America requirements.
Host volunteer work teams with the Volunteer Coordinator and Reclamation Coordinator, who will assist in operations.
Ensure that Primarius (inventory software) online orders are processed in a timely manner.
Lead and/or participate in special projects or standing work groups as required to research, test, and/or implement organizational improvements or introduce new programs into the organization.
Serve as the liaison on assigned committees.
Perform other duties as assigned, including general warehouse activities as needed.

Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B. S.) or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

As a member of Feeding America and a United Way Member Agency, Feeding the Gulf Coast works through member organizations and special programs to provide nutritious food to meet the challenge of feeding people who are hungry as a result of systemic poverty, personal crisis, or disaster. Additionally, Feeding the Gulf Coast educates the public regarding domestic hunger, proper nutrition, and other related issues. Feeding the Gulf Coast serves a 24-county area spanning south Alabama, South Mississippi, and the panhandle of Florida.
