We are looking for an experienced full-time Warehouse Associate – Facility Support to assist all areas of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank (CPFB) warehouse in performing all job functions associated with the warehousing and distribution of food.

Job responsibilities

Job Accountabilities:
• Assist with placing agency orders at front bay area for scheduled pick-up times.
• Ensure the complete agency order (dry goods, produce cooler, and freezer items) is accurately retrieved and prepared for distribution.
• Accurately pick agency add-on items and communicate with warehouse staff to assist with large add-ons or high-volume periods.
• Separate billable categories and weigh accordingly for accurate billing of partners’ shopping area products.
• As needed, assist with loading orders in agency vehicles.
• Maintain front-end coolers and freezers to ensure proper product organization, safety, and cleanliness.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the agency shopping area.
• Assist with check-in and record community food donations dropped off at the front shopping area.
• Be an active member of the Safety Committee: attend and participate in all safety meetings.
• Ensure the demonstration kitchen is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with ServSafe and AIB standards.
• Clean all areas of the warehouse and exterior grounds in accordance with AIB standards.
• Properly dispose of food products that are no longer suitable for consumption.
• Conduct minor facility maintenance and repairs, including routine tasks such as changing lightbulbs and general upkeep, requiring mechanical aptitude.
• Perform snow removal on property grounds and roof as required.
• Upkeep of Food Bank passenger vehicles.
• Support special events as needed.
• Participate in internal committees and workgroups as required.
• Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned.

Other Duties:
• In instances of a federal, state or locally declared emergency, CPFB is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all employees may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties.

Application qualifications

Education and Experience:
Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:
• One to two years’ experience working in a warehouse or distribution facility.
• Forklift certification desired.

Physical Requirements or Licenses:
• Must have a valid driver’s license with history of a good driving record.
• Conditions may include working outside in inclement weather, working closely with others, working alone, and working protracted or irregular hours.
• Regularly required to stand and walk.
• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
