Description

Customer service and hands-on volunteer management - Leads volunteer groups through food sorting, repackaging and assembly projects.
o Provides training for food safety, warehouse safety and food sorting requirements.
o Motivates and supervise volunteers.
o Provides tours of the facility to volunteers.
o Educates volunteers on organization mission and upcoming events and campaigns.
o Assigns volunteers to work with other departments, as requested.
o Manages volunteers at off-site fundraisers and food drives.

Project management - Ensures that all volunteer projects are completed correctly and efficiently.
o Sets up workspace and prepare supplies for the assigned projects.
o Ensures food safety standards are met by proper cleaning of workspace after every shift.

Operations procedures/inventory control - Ensures accurate inventory control and communicates with the operations department daily to coordinate the movement of palletized food and needed supplies.
o Follows all inventory control procedures required for transferring product.
o Scans and labels all completed pallets.
o Reports the status of inventory production in daily reports.
o Conducts cycle counts for product stored in volunteer sort rooms.
o Completes and submit pallet drop request forms.
o Daily use of warehouse equipment (manual and electric pallet jacks), weekly use of forklift (tow motor).

Required service hours management.
o Manages court ordered community service volunteers.
o Assigns court ordered community service volunteers to work with other departments.
o Tracks service hours, and dismiss volunteers who do not meet job requirements.
o Confirms completed hours for court, school, and corporate volunteers.

Application qualifications

Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience: 2+ years of related experience and/or training.

-Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
-Effectively delegates and coordinates tasks to others, while also ensuring that everyone is focused and motivated.

-Collaborates with and presents to diverse audiences in a variety of settings.
-Comfortable in a warehouse work environment.

Other requirements: Our pre-hire process requires acceptable results from the following: professional reference feedback, criminal background, Motor Vehicle Record and a pre-employment drug test. Current Driver’s License and automobile insurance are also required. Criminal backgrounds are evaluated on a case-by-case basis considering several factors (timing, frequency, severity and job relation).
