General Description/Position Summary
The Partner Relationship Manager has a clear understanding of the Foodbank’s vision of a nutritionally secure Missouri and Illinois. The Manager is forward thinking, collaborative and understands the need for authentic connections with partners to understand the needs of our community. With the Partner Relationship Coordinators they lead, the Manager represents the Foodbank across our region and assists communities in learning about nutrition insecurity, its root causes and developing a pathway to ending hunger. The Manager evaluates the effectiveness of partner capacity building efforts, identifies trends and opportunities for collaboration and maintains a focus on the best way to meet the needs of each community. The Manager will be responsible for identifying, onboarding, and supporting new partners throughout our 26-county service area. 

Objectives
•    Develop and oversee a capacity building program that grows our network partners and allows evolution as the needs of our neighbors’ change.
•    Assist with program outreach for growth of specialized populations including seniors and school markets.
•    In collaboration with the Programs team and Community Partners leadership, identify communities in need of increased capacity to serve clients. Partner with Relationship Coordinators to identify and implement solutions which may include growing partners or recruiting new ones.
•    Field calls and inquiries from community stakeholders and prospective partners. Follow established processes to assist with vetting and onboarding.
•    Identify trends in partner needs and work in collaboration with the Programs and Quality Assurance teams to develop and implement capacity building trainings and tools. 
•    Provide leadership, coaching, goals, and ongoing support to Partner Relationship Coordinators.

Responsibilities

  • Research and onboard new and appropriate partners when additional access points or program expansion is needed. Ensure new partners support and enhance our strategic mission and vision.  
  • Ensure compliance requirements for partners are met and that all partners align with appropriate government, Feeding America, St. Louis Area Foodbank, and other relevant sanctioning body’s operating guidelines, regulations, and rules.
  • Develop documentation pertaining to agency partnerships, trainings, and compliance.
  • Assess, strengthen, grow, and approve new partner relationships.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Customer Service teams to develop peer to peer learning and collaborations. Present trainings when necessary. 
  • Lead planning, implementation and engagement of the Partner Committee while cultivating partner collaborations, recognition, and feedback.
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of and perform annual performance evaluations for Partner Relationship Coordinators. Set and manage goals. 
  • Build a network of relationships and become familiar with relevant data to develop an understanding of the politics, capacity, resources, challenges, and opportunities across our service territory. 
  • Assists with network and neighbor needs assessments and survey opportunities as needed. 
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to develop and implement a multi-media partner communication strategy including in person partner meetings and updating and monitoring the agency access web page. 
  • Work cross functionally to identify outcomes and develop metrics to support and reinforce philanthropic and marketing efforts to ensure program models are resourced appropriately. Ensures grant deliverables are met.  
  • Represents the Foodbank in the community and at public speaking events. Is actively involved in dialog with influencers who can support our mission and help shape and strengthen our community. Facilitates cross-departmental connections as needed. 
  • Sees connections and opportunities in existing and new relationships to create holistic partnerships to meet community needs and end hunger. 
  • Responsible for executing and updating annual department work plans including budgets, calendars, goals, standard operating procedures and tasks.
  • Partners with departmental leadership to craft, refine, and execute the Foodbank’s Strategic Direction.
  • Incorporates the use of volunteers, interns, and AmeriCorps members into the relationship management process and directly at partners sites. 
  • Provide oversight and direction to volunteers, interns, and AmeriCorps members. 
  • Assist and support Disaster Response Team. 
  • Attend program-related training conferences and workshops as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree from an accredited university required. Master’s degree with Emphasis in Non-Profit Administration, Public Health, Social Work or other related field preferred.
  • Two to five years’ experience managing and developing staff to positions of increased responsibility required.
  • Bilingual a plus. 
  • Experience in developing programs, project management and relationship management.

  • Strong analytical skills and customer focus.
  • Excellent organization skills and detailed oriented. 
  • Superior problem solving and conflict management skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and web-based applications.\
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, ability to handle interruptions, maintains focus on tasks and produce accurate work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Must have reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance and be willing to travel throughout jurisdiction with occasional overnight stays. 
  • Must be able to pass drug screening and criminal background check.

Additional information

Work Schedule
•    Monday - Friday onsite at the SLAFB facility and in the community as needed.
•    This role may be hybrid and flexibility will be granted as appropriate in accordance with the SLAFB's Remote Work/Working From Home Policy.
•    Special events and other projects related to this position may require evening and/or weekend work. 
•    Meeting attendance may require overnight travel.

Physical Requirements
The Partner Relationship Manager will spend significant time in the community, at partner sites, in our warehouse and at food distributions. Requirements include: 
•    Walking to and from the corporate office to the warehouse, both of which are on the Foodbank campus.
•    Walking on hard concrete surfaces (in the warehouse or in the community).
•    Ability to lift, bend, stoop, pick up and move objects up to 40-50 pounds.
