Description

Food Bank For New York City’s Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for creating, implementing and managing an integrated marketing strategy for both digital and traditional program and campaigns. This position will build and manage marketing plans and public relations initiatives along with any coinciding budgets and needs for tracking and analysis that will help increase the Food Bank’s visibility, market share, and donations. The Marketing and Communications Manager will work to invest key Food Bank stakeholders and the general public in the organization’s mission making them aware of the service landscape, opportunities to be engaged, reasons to adopt various actions and stances and leveraging them to support our key messages in various forums. Additionally, s/he will communicate our major accomplishments in innovation and mission wins (to be used with the media and the public) to gain widespread support for our programs, initiatives, etc.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic, execution-oriented marketer with a strong business acumen and tireless drive for results. This person will be excited to wear many hats and collaborate across the organization with various team members to successfully drive Food Bank’s success.

Job responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Conceive and develop efficient and intuitive marketing campaigns to support fundraising and program initiatives
· Provide effective project management of Food Bank’s marketing campaigns to ensure agreed strategic goals between the organization and its various partners and supporters
· Conduct research for relevant campaign activities as required
· Write copy for diverse marketing materials for FBFNYC (brochures, newsletters, social media, emails, website)
· Own and drive the marketing content-development process
· Help manage and optimize social media program
· Generate website content to support SEO efforts
· Manage the ongoing marketing strategy and activation
· Possess the ability to obtain buy-in and participation from programs across multiple departments
· Develop and execute communications campaigns (i.e. influencer and social media) and manage ongoing content
· Support departments in marketing best practices
· Assist in communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership

REQUIREMENTS:
· Experience in developing, managing and executing content strategy
· Excellent writing skills (writing samples required)
· Experience with WordPress, web content management
· Ability to manage multiple projects
· Detail-oriented without losing sight of the big picture

Application qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's Degree required
· Minimum 3 years marketing, communications, or public relations experience
· Proven project management skills, able to manage schedules, timelines and demands effectively
· Excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills; proven track record of interacting effectively with people and external stakeholders of diverse cultural and professional backgrounds and building and maintaining positive relationships in order to create change
· Proven and comprehensive track record of successful and innovative development and implementation of strategies through planning and managing campaigns, communications and marketing projects
· Excellent communication skills, including written, oral and presentation
· Demonstrated ability to articulate the mission and vision of the organization
· Ability to multi-task, with excellent organizational and management skills
· Ability to lead and inspire and to work well within a team environment
· Ability to work under pressure of deadlines
· Demonstrable ability for accountability and to deliver on agreed activities to a high standard
· IT / computer literate using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure, with a history of success in roles requiring creative and critical thinking while managing multiple priorities in a highly dynamic environment

Experience with or knowledge of social service/hunger issues a plus
