This is an extraordinary time to take the helm of the department of Programs and Network Relations at Island Harvest Food Bank. The new Chief Programs and Network Officer will have the responsibility of building a partnership with the President and CEO, while supervising the team responsible for executing the programs and services that enable the community and our member agencies network to have increased opportunities for healthy food, support and services that align with the organizations’ mission of “ending hunger and reducing food waste on Long Island”.

The incumbent will be a member of the executive leadership team and will aid in the creation, articulation, and implementation of departmental and organizational goals and objectives. As a senior level professional, the Chief Programs and Network Officer will actively participate in managing and carrying out the objectives of the organizations’ strategic plan and work closely with the President and the Board of Directors.

This candidate will have a proven progressive and successful record of accomplishment while managing a team for a complex not-for-profit human services, healthcare or related organization to align with the needs and objectives of an expanding organization. Demonstrated success in managing a team of professionals is important. Knowledge of outreach services and network relations is important, as is advanced computer skills

Application qualifications

Education: 4-year degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience: 5-10 years’ experience working in a complex not-for profit human services, healthcare or related organization with at least 4 years in a managerial position. Prior nonprofit experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
• Outreach Services and network relations.
• Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Community work to care for and support vulnerable populations throughout Long Island.
• Current trends in programming and services in a fast-paced changing environment.
