Description

In partnership with the Director of Development, the Individual Giving Manager will collaboratively manage the identification, creative engagement and cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a portfolio of individual donors. This individual will support the overall success of the Food Bank’s direct response individual giving programs, including direct mail and online campaigns to acquire, cultivate, renew, and upgrade donors under $1K. This position will also support the development of a mid-level individual giving program for donors making annual gifts of $500 -$4,999 and will drive a pipeline strategy for moving annual donors into the major gifts pool.

This person should demonstrate passion for food insecurity, have a proven record of building meaningful relationships, cultivation, and stewardship of individual gifts, provide outstanding customer service, see fundraising a collaborative rather than competitive environment, and be able to build relationships with internal and external partners. The Individual Giving Manager must demonstrate an active commitment to Food Bank of Wyoming’s mission in all aspects of daily work.

Job responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities
• Responsible for managing a comprehensive relationship based individual donor portfolio, especially those that give $500 -$4,999 annually
• Oversee and delivers successful, coordinated message campaigns, for renewing donors under $1,000, mid-level program donors from $500 -$4,999, and Food Bank of Wyoming’s Monthly Giving Circle
• Leads efforts to identify and engage new constituencies, renew existing ones, and re-activate lapsed supporters to the Food Bank of Wyoming
• Drives Annual Fund renewal & acquisition campaigns to grow the donor base, improve learning engagement opportunities, and retain donors
• Partners with Development Operations (DevOps) to ensure successful segmentation, tracking, reporting, and analysis of campaigns and appeals
• Manages donor surveys and other research activities to ensure that all messaging reflects the interests and concerns of our constituents in Wyoming
• Collaborates with Marketing & Communications, Community Engagement, Programs, and Development staff to identify compelling stories, projects, and programs to showcase in fundraising activities
• Actively works to integrate the Annual Fund program alongside the direct mail program with other fundraising and communications activities.
• Supports other development team projects, activities, and events as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Commitment to fulfilling the Food Bank of Wyoming mission and positively representing the brand both internally and externally
• Knowledge of effective relationship-based fundraising techniques and practices, including knowledge around managing a portfolio, leadership annual gifts, and understanding direct mail campaigns
• Commitment to excellence and efficiency, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to create solutions within a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-through skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort speaking in both small-group and large-group settings
• Ability to exercise the appropriate level of professionalism and discretion when dealing with confidential information.

Application qualifications

• High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent work-related experience
• Two (2) years or more of professional-level fundraising experience in a non-profit setting
• Experience with relationship-based fundraising is strongly preferred
• Experience with Bloomerang fundraising database or similar constituent management software is preferred
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Outlook

Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, exempt position (approximately 40 hours per week) with a flexible work schedule; hybrid work is available. Work schedules may vary each week and consist of weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays. Occasional travel is required within Wyoming.

Compensation:
Salary: $55,000 - $57,000 annually with additional consideration for highly qualified candidates. Eligible for up to 6% annual bonus.
