The Fundraising Data Analysts is a strategic, creative, and collaborative position on the Giving Team team, leading the use of analytics as well as prospect research in Food Lifeline’s databases and reporting tools. This role is responsible for maintaining and safeguarding data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality as it relates to all philanthropic operations, adhering to the Association Fundraising Professional’s Code of Ethics. This position facilitates and analyzes fundraising strategies, processes, and performance with an eye towards advancing donor relationships and enhancing processes and communication across the department.
The Fundraising Data Analyst works closely with cross-functional teams to proactively design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports, execute prospect and portfolio analysis, assist in QA and testing of data pipelines, and contribute to the documentation and delivery of high-quality data products, contributing to the achievement of departmental and organizational objectives.
The Fundraising Data Analyst will contribute to the Giving Team’s strategies to achieve an annual goal of $16 million in philanthropic revenue. This position will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Essential Functions
Business Intelligence & Analytics
• Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, RENXT, and Excel.
• Deliver scheduled and ad hoc analysis of donor, campaign, and engagement data.
• Conduct segmentation and portfolio analysis to inform fundraising and Moves Management strategy.
• Leverage platforms like iWave to conduct prospect research and ensure timely updates are reflected in CRM platform. This includes adhering to APRA Code of Ethics.
• Communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
Data Infrastructure & Automation Support
• Develop ETL/ELT workflows and QA.
• Support monitoring and maintenance of data pipelines across CRM, marketing, volunteer, and advocacy platforms.
• Write scripts (e.g., Python) to automate data transformations and imports.
• Document data schema, lineage, and platform workflows.
Platform Development & Transition
• Participate in internal platform build-outs designed to replace or fill in gaps between vended tools.
• Assist in testing, rollout, and optimization of enterprise applications.
• Identify manual processes suitable for automation and propose technical solutions.
Governance & Compliance
• Maintain and enforce SOPs for data quality, security, and access control.
• Execute regular audits and integrity checks across connected systems.
• Execute daily, weekly, and monthly audit and maintenance reports and
processes, establishing new/additional items for the schedule as needed
• Create and maintain a calendar, documentation, and Standard Operating
Procedures (SOP) for the above
• Ensure compliance with donor privacy and consent standards
• Ensure solutions development processes align with established software lifecycle and version control protocols
Collaboration & Project Management
• Create, edit, and maintain templates, workflows, profiles, and reports across a variety of systems including Raiser’s Edge, Omatic, Smartsheet, Asana, iWave, and other software
• Maintain appropriate security access levels to Development software and reports
• Provide project management and task completion for various database projects including but not limited to: cleanup work, infrastructure updates, product implementations, and other projects
• Identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies for optimization
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged donor information and protect organization operations
• Serve as project lead or contributor on cross-functional data initiatives
• Coordinate with Development, Marketing, IT, and Finance to align on data strategy
• Cover for Development operations team colleagues during peak workloads or absences
• Other related assignments as needed

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. 3–5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or nonprofit CRM systems
2. Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent dashboarding platforms
3. Advanced Excel skills; strong understanding of data modeling and visualization best practices
4. Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (such as Python, VBA, etc.) and/or experience developing complex flows on low code platforms (Microsoft Power), used for automating data processes, custom reporting, or API-based integrations
STRONGLY preferred
5. Familiarity with CRM systems such as Raiser’s Edge, iWave, ResearchPoint, or similar
6. Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, APIs, and cloud-based data tools (preferred)
7. Strong project management and cross-functional communication skills
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or 5 years + equivalent professional experience
• Background in data analysis, business intelligence, or systems administration preferred
• Experience in nonprofit, fundraising, or mission-driven organizations is a plus
Work Environment and Expectations
• Hybrid work structure
• Standard full-time schedule, Monday through Friday
• May require occasional evenings or weekends
• Office-based tasks involve prolonged computer use and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $75,000–$100,000 annually
Food Lifeline is committed to fair, transparent, and equitable compensation practices that support our mission to address hunger and its root causes. This position is assigned to a four-step salary range.
Most new hires are typically placed in Step 1 of the range, which reflects the entry point for the role. Placement within the range is based on job-related factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, and internal equity, as evaluated during the hiring process.
Movement through the salary range may occur over time and is guided by performance, role development, and organizational compensation practices.
