  • If you currently receive SNAP and live in a state that offers additional assistance, you'll receive your current benefits amounts for January and February 2023. But in March 2023, benefits will return to lower, pre-COVID levels.

We know this benefit reduction will negatively impact many people's household food budgets. We encourage you to visit the nearest food pantry for additional assistance.

  • The temporary COVID increase to SNAP benefits provided an additional $95 in monthly benefits or the maximum benefit for your household size.

The expiration of emergency SNAP benefits will reduce your monthly benefits by an average of $90 per person. This amount will very by state. We encourage you to check with your state’s SNAP agency for more specific information on how this change will affect you.

  • This change in SNAP benefits impacts thirty-two states and three territories. They are:

Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Guam, Hawai’i, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina*, Texas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
