How We're Working Together to End Hunger
Disaster Response
When disaster strikes, we help communities get the necessary food and resources. With the help of partners like The New York Times Communities Fund, the Feeding America network provided impacted communities with 8 million pounds of disaster response supplies last year.
Food Access
Food banks and meal programs need extra support to meet increased demand due to rising food prices and fewer food donations. But thanks to the support of partners like The New York Times Communities Fund, we can continue to provide nutritious meals to millions of people experiencing food insecurity.
Centering Our Neighbors
To end hunger, we must listen to those who have experienced it firsthand. The New York Times Communities Fund amplifies the voices of people with lived experiences of food insecurity, sharing their stories and bringing readers into their lives.

About The New York Times Communities Fund
The New York Times Communities Fund supports a global community of people in need and seeks to find avenues to best support those individuals in communities nationwide. Feeding America shares this passion and believes that every community and each person within it should have access to the food and resources they need to thrive.
History of The New York Times Communities Fund
Feeding America is incredibly grateful for The New York Times Communities Fund’s partnership over the last six years. Since 2017, the Fund has supported Feeding America in its efforts to ensure people have the food and resources they need to thrive. The Fund’s investments have improved equitable access to food in rural communities, helped communities recover in times of disaster, and enabled healthy food delivery across our nationwide network of food banks. In 2019, Feeding America was thrilled to become an official agency beneficiary of the Fund. This opportunity and the Fund’s platform have amplified the voices of people with lived experiences of food insecurity, allowing them to share their stories and bring readers into their lives. Feeding America is honored to work alongside the Fund and our fellow agency partners to serve communities in need around the world. We look forward to continuing to make a meaningful impact for people facing hunger for years to come.
A Message from Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, CEO of Feeding America
“Nutritious food is foundational to human thriving. In every community nationwide, people are working hard to provide for themselves and their families, yet we estimate 49 million people turned to the charitable food system in 2022. Feeding America is committed to supporting people experiencing food insecurity today and to ending hunger tomorrow.
The New York Times Communities Fund fuels that mission. Partnerships like this allow us to elevate the voices of neighbors facing hunger and invest in sustainable, long-term solutions, especially in communities most disparately impacted. The movement to end hunger is underway, and we see signs that our actions are working. Together, we can build an America where each person has access to fresh, healthy food”
A Message from The New York Times
