In her role as Senior Manager of Neighbor Access & Experience Services at Feeding America, Cheyanna Johnson focuses on building network-wide capacity to strengthen neighbor access and experience by addressing barriers to fair access to food, community-based disparities and improving dignity and fairness for neighbors accessing network resources. She supports this work by developing learning spaces, tools and approaches that help connect enterprise strategy to day-to-day practice across the network.
Cheyanna brings experience across both the national organization and food bank level. She began her career with Feeding America as a Child Hunger Corps Member, assessing community needs and implementing solutions to close the child hunger meal gaps and strengthen program reach at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. After her tenure in the Child Hunger Corps, Johnson led school-based food access programs at the food bank, where she worked with schools and community partners to expand access for children and families. This experience continues to inform how she approaches network capacity building and partnership.
As a Rotating Executive Team member, she represents the Council of Leads and currently serves as chair of the Lived, Living, and Learning ERG. Johnson’s lived experience shapes how she approaches leadership, particularly in how she thinks about belonging, access and how decisions are experienced by staff and neighbors. In these roles, Johnson hopes to contribute to enterprise conversations by connecting staff experience, strategy and neighbor voice, and by helping translate broader context in ways that support alignment across the organization.
Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with minors in Economics and Agriculture & Natural Resources from Berea College. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Learning and Organizational Change at Northwestern University, where she is deepening her focus on learning systems, leadership, and organizational change.
