HelloFresh

As a Feeding America Mission Partner, HelloFresh procures food and transports it efficiently to partner food banks so they can distribute healthy meals to neighbors facing hunger.

Since 2019, HelloFresh has donated more than 48.5 million pounds of surplus food—an estimated 40 million meals*. The multinational, meal-kit company is on track to hit a tremendous donation milestone by the end of 2026: 50 million meals for local communities across the U.S.

Building Community-Based, Hunger-Relief Solutions

“Because we want to maximize our impact, our donation efforts are hyper-local and deeply rooted in the communities where we operate,” said Kelsey Frandsen, Sustainability and Social Impact Managerfor HelloFresh. “We bring the strength of procurement and logistics, and we rely on Feeding America to guide the distribution so the food gets exactly where it is needed most.”

HelloFresh’s approach focuses on building sustainable, holistic and dignified solutions to achieve food security.

“We’ve really focused on high-value donations like protein and fresh produce, which are always in high demand for families facing hunger,” Frandsen said. “We’re constantly looking for innovative ways to rescue perfectly safe food and get more meals into communities that need it most.”

Reaching More Families with Fresh Food

In addition to surplus food donations, HelloFresh (a family of brands, including Factor) partners with Feeding America by donating in-kind assets to boost local food distribution efforts.

In 2025, through Factor’s Fuel for Change program, Factor donated 10 refrigerated vans to help partner food banks in Arizona, Texas and Illinois overcome common logistical challenges, such as storage limitations and temperature-controlled requirements, that can impact the ability to distribute fresh, perishable food to neighbors facing hunger.

“Meals with Meaning”

Through its Meals with Meaning purchased food donation program, HelloFresh provides 32,000 free meal kits each week to neighbors facing hunger in regions where the company operates distribution centers: New York City, New York; Newark, New Jersey; Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas; and Phoenix, Arizona.

Since launching in 2020 in response to the pandemic and increased food insecurity, Meals with Meaning has delivered more than 10 million meals through local collaborations with Feeding America partner food banks.
