As a long-standing partner of Feeding America, the Nationwide Foundation is committed to helping address food insecurity and strengthening communities across the country.
Since 2000, the Nationwide Foundation, a Feeding America Leadership Partner, has contributed more than $41 million to support the Feeding America network. Since 2009, the Foundation has donated over 134 million* meals to neighbors facing hunger.
This impact is rooted in both national partnerships and deep local engagement. In Columbus, Ohio, the Nationwide Foundation partners with Mid-Ohio Food Collective, a Feeding America partner food bank and the largest food bank in Ohio. The food bank’s service in the region dates back decades, including a landmark 1987 effort when Nationwide donated 1.3 million units of food—the largest single-company employee response in the nation at the time.

Increasing Nutritious Food Access for Neighbors Facing Hunger
Across the country, the Foundation’s support extends across the Feeding America network, anchored by dedicated volunteers, working daily to achieve food security in local communities. Examples of hunger-relief impact include:
- For more than 15 years, the Nationwide Foundation has supported St. Mary's Food Bank (Phoenix, Arizona) and Nationwide employees have contributed thousands of volunteer hours to help ensure local families have access to nutritious food.
- The Nationwide Foundation’s long-standing partnership with the Food Bank of Iowa (Des Moines, Iowa) includes a $1.5 million investment in 2024 —the largest gift in the food bank’s history at that time—to overhaul the food bank’s distribution center. The capacity-building gift will allow the food bank to distribute twice as much food as the current facility layout permits, including a much higher proportion of more nutritious refrigerated and frozen foods for neighbors.
Building Strong Communities through Collective Impact
The Foundation’s support of Feeding America is strengthened by the passion and generosity of Nationwide employees. In 2025, employees volunteered nearly 73,000 hours, including more than 8,600 volunteer hours at Feeding America food banks, and contributed $7 million to nonprofits nationwide, with the Nationwide Foundation matching those donations to double their impact.
These combined efforts help address both immediate needs and long-term solutions for hunger relief. The Nationwide Foundation supports Feeding America, our National Produce Program, and 19 partner food banks through direct grants—and the Foundation’s employee match program further extends support to food banks across the country.
