Obama Administration Announces Major Investments in Preventing Child Hunger | White House Press Office

Feeding America was pleased to participate in a conversation on child hunger hosted by the White House. The panel included Dawn, a former SNAP recipient; Dr. Hilary Seligman, a member of our Technical Advisory Group for research and representatives from food banks. The announcement was made that investments will be made in more resources to feed hungry children during the summer.

Why Half a Million People Will Lose Their Food Stamps This Year | CNBC

A new report by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities show that many of the country’s poorest individuals will lose their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits (otherwise known as SNAP or food stamps) this year. Feeding America believes that SNAP is critical to help vulnerable citizens get back on their feet. Cutting such benefits would be devastating to the people who use it.
