Description

Bring your strong Information Technology (IT) systems support background to an organization that serves others in our community. Seeking an experienced IT Systems Support person who will have responsibility for IT systems and user support. The role reports to the Head of Technology & Transformation and is a visible part of the work environment supporting the Food Depository. This role works closely with a third-party IT Managed Service Provider (MSP), various IT vendors as well as internal IT staff.

We are experiencing high levels of need for food and services that come from the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Our staff are working hard to keep up with the need. We are making investments in our technology to improve the way we work.

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Manage the IT support processes for the Food Depository. This includes the reactive (incidents/tickets) as well as the proactive (patching, upgrades, monitoring.)
In coordination with the IT MSP, manage the servers, network, workstations and remote access.
Work closely with our IT MSP to ensure support processes are effective.
Define and implement system improvements such as improved backups, improved IT Security, Disaster Preparedness, etc.
Oversee and manage the Hosted Voice over IP telephone system.
Manage the on-premises audio visual systems.
Manage the IT system accounts and user permissions, including the Azure and Apple IDs.
Manage the wireless phone services.
Coordinate the systems onboarding of new employees and the account deactivation when employees depart.
Support the users, and visitors, with audio/video in conference rooms.
Work with IT staff and the IT MSP to define and implement improvements.
Provide onsite assistance to hardware issues as required.
Manage the Azure data warehouse environment.
Serve as the internal infrastructure support consultant to projects.
Manage the Microsoft 365 online environment including Power BI workspaces and licensing.
Manage the various IT system and service licenses.
Coordinate the purchase of IT equipment for various programs and projects.
Work with the cybersecurity vendor and manage the cybersecurity and identity management environments.
Oversee the in-building UHF radio system.
Manage domain names and registration.
Communicate status and metrics to your supervisor weekly.
Assist business units with completing cybersecurity evaluations and audits.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Application qualifications

10+ years of IT Systems experience including 5+ years of IT Support related experience.
Strong systems understanding including Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, Windows Servers with VMWare, SharePoint, SQL, Windows Shell Commands. Microsoft Windows certificates and VMWare certificates are highly desirable.
Experience building proactive IT support processes to reduce IT incidents.
Enthusiasm for the mission of the Food Depository
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively at both a management level and to be an individual contributor. Must dig in and solve problems. We are a small IT team, and we all dive in as needed to solve specific problems.
Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working closely with vendors, end users, team members, functional owners, and leadership.
