Disney, ABC and Feeding America work together to bring fresh produce and nutritious foods to kids and families who need it most.
The Walt Disney Company and Disney | ABC Television Group, announced their continued investment with Feeding America and is providing $1 million to strengthen local produce programs in Feeding America member food banks across the country.
The Feeding America network provides meals to more than 46 million people, including 12 million children each year. Disney’s commitment will provide grants to 60 Feeding America member food banks across the country, helping to empower the network of food banks in rescuing and distributing produce to underserved families by inspiring creative approaches to impact local change.
This support will enable Feeding America to rescue more of the billions of pounds of produce that goes to waste in the United States each year.
Increasing access to nutritious foods, including fresh produce, and engaging audiences to take action is part of Disney's long-standing commitment to healthy living which partners with parents and inspires kids to eat better, be more active and be their best.
Since 2012, Disney has provided millions of dollars in support to Feeding America initiatives.
This year, as part of Disney’s “Share the Joy” campaign, Feeding America and Disney will expand access to healthy living options in neighborhoods where kids and families live, work and play.
