Michele Bart serves as Vice President of Stewardship and Operations. In her role, Michele applies deep knowledge of all aspects of Development, including industry best practices and Feeding America priorities to lead, drive and execute a Stewardship Center that supports the entire Development team’s annual goals by providing world class donor engagement processes, tools and support. She creates, plans, and executes project management practices that promote innovation and improvement of strategically focused fundraising and donor stewardship across multiple Feeding America teams, and acts as the liaison for key donor communications with the CEO and leads key projects for the Chief Development Officer.
Michele has been in the nonprofit sector since 1999. Michele joined Feeding America in 2018 as Director of New Partnerships. Before joining Feeding America, Michele was the Chief Development Officer at Feeding San Diego, the leading hunger-relief and food rescue organization in San Diego County and the only Feeding America network member food bank in the region.
Additionally, Michele’s nonprofit professional experience includes serving as Executive Director for HeadNorth, Senior Director of Development for Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and Chief Development Officer for The Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation. Before her nonprofit work, Michele was co-owner of JayBart Restaurant Group with her husband.
As a child, Michele and her grandmother received meals from a local food bank—and they also gave back, volunteering weekly at their church’s food pantry. Understanding that food is community, Michele is passionate about helping individuals and corporate partners find meaningful ways to support our work in ending hunger.
Michele attended the University of Arizona and the University of Phoenix. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
