As MealConnect® Program Manager, Christopher Swann is focused on working with food banks to increase the capacity to receive food by scaling MealConnect, a technology platform that helps them manage food donations. With an understanding of the challenges facing the Feeding America network, Christopher works with member food banks to eliminate technological barriers so they can effectively and efficiently support neighbors in need. In June 2020, Feeding America expanded the MealConnect platform, making it the first food-rescue technology available nationwide for all food businesses. Since its inception in 2014, MealConnect has helped network food banks rescue more than 2 billion pounds of food.
Christopher joined Feeding America in 2015 as an intern and has worked across the organization in various roles. Additionally, he led the charge to create the first racial employee resource group at Feeding America—Black Employees of Feeding America—and is committed to advocating for transformational change that will positively impact people facing hunger.
Prior to joining Feeding America, Christopher worked in the retail apparel industry—building relationships, motivating team members and working collaboratively across departments and with business partners to achieve financial goals and meet service expectations.
Dedicated to his community in Chicago, Christopher regularly volunteers at his local food pantry, remembering the times he and his family stood in similar lines to receive food.
