As Chief Supply Chain Officer, Blake Thompson is responsible for leading Feeding America’s strategic work to increase the amount of nutritious food available through the network for people facing hunger.
Blake has built a long career in the food industry and has extensive end-to-end supply chain experience. He has had responsibility for every function of the supply chain including demand planning and management, sourcing, procurement, transportation and logistics, technology, production, research and development, quality and safety. He comes to Feeding America from Swisher Hygiene, a company of 160 commercial linen, hygiene and chemical companies. Here, he served as SVP & Chief Operating Officer tasked with integrating these acquisitions into a single supply chain and national service organization.
Previously, Blake served as Senior Vice President, Supply Chain at Snyder’s-Lance, Inc., a $550 million regional snack company, where he led a complete restructuring of the supply chain from four independent supply chain organizations to one integrated team. He also served at Tasty Baking, where he led the planning and re-engineering of the company's branded product manufacturing platform.
During his 23 years at Frito-Lay, Blake developed experience across all aspects of supply chain and manufacturing operations. He was directly responsible for manufacturing, distribution, logistics and quality control for the Carolinas region and ultimately for the largest sales region, the Northeast, where he oversaw three manufacturing plants and 25 distribution centers with $900 million in revenue, 2000 employees and a fleet of 200 trucks. Blake was also heavily engaged in the cultural transformation process, driving change leadership excellence and continuous improvement programs.
Blake holds a Bachelors in general studies in Economics and Political Science.
