Transportation and Logistics Manager

The CFBNJ is looking for a Full Time Logistics Manager to direct and administrate all daily transportation related management functions and operational strategies, required to ensure the timely delivery and pick-ups of products to clients and donors in the most cost-effective manner. The Logistics Manager ensures that all drivers adhere to policies, procedures, and DOT regulations, creates and implements appropriate systems for loading and delivery, in addition to product protection, and provides leadership with other operations management in the facility, as well as with distribution planning.

Job responsibilities

Supervising staff, hiring, and training new staff; setting associate goals and objectives monitoring staff performance including performance reviews.
Observing all safety practices and evaluating workplace environments,
Coordinating transportation schedules and corresponding documentation.
Adjusting orders, developing sequence of deliveries and driver manifests
Supervising the routing of daily pick-ups and deliveries using the Roadnet Transportation Suite.
Updating and maintaining vehicle account and billing documents.
Reporting and coordinating repairs and schedules maintenance to the proper equipment vendors for all transportation department equipment.
Maintaining all accident reporting and filing
Managing and collaborating all daily operations of food, including but not limited to receiving, storage, inventory, selecting and shipments of products.
Managing warehouse equipment and collaborating for all transportation equipment repairs.
Managing and maintaining transportation staff time clock and attendance procedures.
Assisting in the coordination of product flow.
Conducting annual review and updating of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

Application qualifications

Three to five years of experience in distribution or warehouse management
At least three years of supervision experience, preferably in transportation, is required
Knowledge of Roadnet or similar routing software
Proficient verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Good analytical ability in order to gather and interpret information and develop, recommend, and implement solutions
One year minimum experience in forklift operation and other materials-handling equipment
Knowledge of warehouse transportation operations is required. Food retail/wholesale is strongly preferred
Working knowledge of DOT regulations and fleet maintenance is strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to make sound, impromptu decisions
Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skill
Self-starter; flexible; available for extended work hours as necessary for business operation
Able to change hours of work as demonstrated by the changing needs of the business
