Description

The Special Events and Promotions Manager is responsible for the successful strategy, management, and execution of fundraising events and promotions at Food Bank of the Rockies. This position is responsible for the annual Food Bank of the Rockies Classic at Sanctuary and will be a key part of the team developing Food Bank of the Rockies next signature event. In addition to Food Bank of the Rockies events, this position is responsible for the management of local promotions, 3rd party events, and community food drives (both virtual and in the community) and the implementation of national Feeding America partnerships, promotions and cause marketing campaigns. This individual will be responsible for the management of approximately $2 million in philanthropic support through events, promotions, and associations. This position directly manages a Community Engagement Coordinator and staffs Board and community fundraising committees in cooperation with the Director of Community Engagement and Chief Development Officer.

This position will be responsible for creating a new signature event for Food Bank of the Rockies, deepen relationships with our community partners, and grow our base of support through meaningful philanthropic engagement.

Job responsibilities

Essential Functions:
· Manages and creates strategy for key Food Bank of the Rockies initiatives including:
o Partnerships with Feeding America national partners
o Food Bank of the Rockies Golf Tournament at the Sanctuary
o Food Bank of the Rockies (TBD) signature event
o Virtual (Team Raiser) and in-person food drives and fundraising
o 3rd party fundraising events and promotions
o Cause-marketing campaigns

· Responsible for meeting and exceeding annual revenue goals related to events and promotions.
· Creates unified strategy and resourcing to ensure consistency and success across the Food Bank of the Rockies service area of Colorado and Wyoming for events, promotions and philanthropic community engagement.
· Manages and implements sponsorship and recognition strategies for corporate and event donors and ensures deliverables for supporters are met.
· Evaluates, researches, and develops Food Bank of the Rockies events strategy including a new signature event for Food Bank of the Rockies to launch in 2022 and successfully execute and enhance existing events.
· Ability to create mutually- beneficial partnerships for Food Bank of the Rockies and community partners ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
· Provides engagement for volunteer committees including the Food Bank of the Rockies Golf Tournament at the Sanctuary and the Fund Development committees.
· Meets goals by measurement of meaningful interactions including phone, in-person, and email conversations for cultivation, stewardship, and solicitations from corporate supporters, event attendees, and coordinates closely for individual support with the individual giving fundraising team and for corporate support with the Corporate Partnerships manager.
· Represent Food Bank of the Rockies’ mission with genuine passion and professionalism
· Work as a cross-functional team member to promote Food Bank of the Rockies brand/message to potential donors, the community, the Board of Directors, and staff
· Other duties as assigned or delegated

Application qualifications

Competencies:
· Demonstrated personal leadership coupled with strong team orientation, exemplary project management skills and a high customer service focus;
· Ability to build highly collaborative partnerships with Food Bank of the Rockies staff, Board, community, and potential funders;
· Extensive knowledge of best practices in cause marketing, event planning, corporate partnerships, and promotions;
· Strong communication skills that are effective across a variety of constituencies;
· Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, able to multi-task multiple assignments
· Team player with a positive attitude
· Deep commitment and passion for the Food Bank of the Rockies.

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university or comparable experience
· Five years or more fundraising experience preferred with an emphasis on event planning, promotions, and cause-marketing
· Two years of management experience
· Work managing a volunteer fundraising committee
· Extensive experience in Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising database; knowledge and experience in Blackbaud’s Team Raiser highly desired
· Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
· Nonprofit experience preferred
