Description

In collaboration with the Director of Annual Giving, the Senior Manager of Annual Giving is responsible for building, executing and expanding a best-in-class Leadership Annual Giving program and moves-management strategy. Working with internal team members and external vendors, the Senior Manager of Annual Giving will translate the vision and strategy of the Food Depository's Annual Giving program into goal-driven annual plans and clear action steps for qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding annual giving donors. The Senior Manager of Annual Giving will manage and support the talents of the Annual Giving Officer, working collectively to achieve an annual revenue goal of $4MM+ and contribute to the overall Annual Giving revenue goal of $23MM+. As a part of that effort, the Senior Manager of Annual Giving will also manage a portfolio of select Leadership Annual Giving donors and prospects, and support prospect management and programmatic needs for other members of the Development and Leadership team as needed.

Success in this position requires a candidate who brings a genuine passion for Annual Giving and demonstrated success in building, launching and executing successful Leadership Annual Giving and moves-management programs. We are seeking an individual who is energized by making connections between processes, programs and people with the talents and experience to drive both behind-the-scenes planning/implementation and front-facing donor relationships.

Job responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Process Management:
-Work with the Director of Annual Giving, Annual Giving Officer, internal team members and external vendors, to:
Translate vision and strategy into clear goals, action steps and success metrics for the Food Depository's donor pipeline, Leadership Annual Giving program, and other key Annual Giving channels (monthly, trib/mem, DAF, etc).
-Define, execute, manage and expand the Food Depository's Annual Giving program and moves-management strategy.
-Serve as thought partner and content expert for the Director of Annual Giving, Annual Giving Officer, Prospect Development Manager, Chief Development Officer, and other development colleagues to advance, evaluate and expand the Food Depository's overall Annual Giving program.
-Summarize and present data in a clear and compelling manner verbally and in writing, and use this information to make data-driven recommendations to inform future programmatic decisions.
-Analyze complex data concerning key Annual Giving donor sets, giving levels, trends, and gift frequency
Work with Prospect Development Manager, Director of Annual Giving and other Development Team members to determine and track KPIs for Leadership Annual Giving prospects and program management, and Annual Giving Officer position.
-Contribute to collaborative discussions, planning and implementation of strategies that advance programmatic and organizational goals related to Community-Centric Fundraising and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
-Monitor industry best practices, trends, issues, and technologies to propose innovative strategies and tactics to advance programmatic goals.
-Continually evaluate existing programs, strategies and tactics to recommend and implement future approaches for Annual Giving.

Relationship Management
-Supervise Annual Giving Officer, using industry expertise and leadership best practices to serve as both a manager and mentor in order to leverage the Annual Giving Officer's talents and support his success.
-Management responsibilities include establishing annual KPIs, providing ongoing leadership and feedback, conducting annual reviews, and ongoing interviewing/hiring as needed.
-Manage a portfolio of select Leadership Annual Giving donors and prospects, deepening relationships, furthering engagement and increasing overall giving as a part of meeting established KPIs and revenue goals.
-Collaborate with supervisor, Prospect Development Manager, Senior Director of Strategic Giving and other Development Team colleagues to identify, qualify/disqualify donors in order to ensure donors move into the giving channel that best facilitates optimal engagement and giving.

Administrative:
-Assist in preparing high-level reports, charts and graphs as needed for briefing leadership and colleagues; informing budget forecasts, evaluating programmatic success/gaps, and informing future strategy.
-Update donor records in a timely matter with relevant data including contact reports, demographic updates, and other similar types of pertinent information.
-Manage external vendor(s) assisting with Annual Giving and Leadership Annual Giving programs as needed, including conducting RFPs.
Other duties as assigned.

Application qualifications

Minimum Qualities and Experience:
-Bachelors degree with 8+ years of development experience, with at least 3+ years of managing successful Annual Giving, Mid-Level Giving and/or Leadership Annual Giving programs within a large non-profit organization, educational institution or other fundraising environment of similar complexity.  
-Demonstrated success in building, executing and growing multi-tiered, data-driven Annual Giving programs and Annual Giving donor pipelines.
-Direct experience managing donor relationships/portfolios, including qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors giving within the $10k+ range.
-Enthusiasm for researching, building, launching and expanding new programs. Must be process-oriented, with the ability to transform vision and theory into well-defined goals, strategies, plans and action steps. 
-Demonstrated initiative and enthusiasm for taking on new projects; embraces solution-forward thinking. Has an entrepreneurial spirit sees challenges as opportunities and leverages expertise to fill gaps and advance solutions.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills, and talents for building positive relationships with donors, volunteers, and colleagues across the Food Depository. Desire to work within a collaborative team environment to deepen donor engagement and giving. Sense of humor is a must.
-Adaptable and flexible in fast-paced environment, able to multi-task and handle several priorities simultaneously.
-Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Development database experience (Raisers Edge / NXT experience a plus).
-Exposure: General office environment; limited exposure to warehouse environment. Interacts with GCFD staff, donors, volunteers and general public. Evening and weekend hours are required as needed. Ability to work remotely as needed.
