The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank (Food Bank) is expanding its Partner Engagement and Programs team to enhance equitable food access for diverse populations. The Food Bank has two exciting career opportunities for a Child Nutrition Program Coordinator and a Senior and Community Program Coordinator to use their talents in customer service and outreach to work with program site volunteers, clients, and colleagues in making an impact in an organization that provides food assistance to neighbors in need.
The role of Senior and Community Nutrition Programs Coordinator supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition programs for seniors and mobile food distributions including the Commodity Supplemental Food (Senior Box) Program, the Reach program for seniors and individuals living with disabilities, the Mobile Food Pantry which provides food in rural areas with low food security, and Neighborhood Produce Markets, which prioritize urban communities. The position will also support fellow Program and Partner Engagement team members with program data collection and compliance. This position reports to the Manager of Senior and Community Nutrition Programs.
The role of Child Nutrition Programs Coordinator supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of child nutrition programs including the Summer Kids Pack Program, Family and Community Supported Backpack Programs, Summer Food Service Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and Good Food School Markets. The position will also support fellow Program and Partner Engagement team members with data collection and compliance. The Program Coordinator reports to the Manager of Child Nutrition Programs.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences/services, public health, or related field, equivalent training or experience, required;
• Experience with detailed reporting and record keeping required;
• Experience coordinating or training groups of people or volunteers preferred;
• Experience working in schools and/or with school districts preferred;
• Experience with federal nutrition programs desired;
• Experience in nonprofit environment desired;
• Communicate clearly, effectively, professionally, and persuasively, both orally and in writing;
• Detail-oriented and manage multiple tasks in an accurate and timely manner;
• Work with program site volunteers, clients, and colleagues in a professional, timely, fair, consistent, and confidential manner;
• Problem solve and handle on-site questions, concerns, and requests efficiently and calmly;
• Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
• Develop rapport with diverse partners, stakeholders, and community members;
• Effectively use computer programs including database management, spreadsheet, and word processing skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft products including, e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
• Demonstrate exceptional organizational and time management skills.
The Program Coordinator roles are full-time. The Child Nutrition Program Coordinator will be based in the Verona location of the Food Bank. The Senior and Community Nutrition Programs Coordinator may have the option to be based in either Charlottesville or Verona location. Duties for both roles may require work during evenings and on weekends. Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Frequent driving and travel throughout the food bank service area is required to perform administrative functions at agencies and program sites.
