Responsible for the leadership and direction of Feeding the Gulf Coast, coordinating support across a three state, 23,000 square mile service area as part of the Feeding America network as well as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Outreach for the States of Alabama and Mississippi. Works with the Board of Directors to establish the strategic vision for the organization and then ensures vision execution through establishment of annual goals for a staff of over seventy employees at five operating locations. Critical areas of focus include: Warehouse and distribution operations, fund development, fiscal administration, contract oversight and compliance, government interaction and community advocacy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Lead and develop the management and support staff to ensure a safe working environment where employees are challenged to grow professionally and personally while supporting the mission of the organization.
-Maintain an organizational climate focused on working collaboratively internally and with other organizations in meeting the needs of individuals throughout the service area with integrity and compassion.
-Ensure cost effective logistic operations in solicitation, warehousing and distribution of food focused on overall and county-level goals.
-Serve as the main spokesperson for the organization ensuring accurate communication of the mission and accomplishments to stakeholders, the media, and the communities within the service area.
-Support the Board of Directors by providing progress reports to assist in their conduct of governance activities and logistics/planning support to assure efficient and effective board and committee meetings.
-Oversee and provide strategic leadership for Food Bank direct marketing, fundraising, product solicitation, public relations and public policy activities.
-Direct the development, implementation, and progress of annual operating plan and budget.
-Maintain and foster professional relationships with Local and State governmental entities, local collaborative partners, members of Feeding Florida, Alabama Food Bank Association, Feeding America and Share Our Strength.
-Administer all contracts and leases and direct fiscal affairs within budgetary restraints. Ensure compliance with all federal and state contracts as well as grant funding requirements.
-Propose policies to the Board and administer approved policies as necessary.
-Ensure implementation of agency human resource policies and procedures and supervise staff directly accountable to the President & CEO in ensuring the adherence to policies and procedures throughout the organization.
-Direct the development of the strategic plan and its implementation.
-Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

-Strong ability to understand and oversee a diverse set of simultaneous operations, maintaining balance of priorities and effort.
-Exceptional attention to detail dealing with inventory control, warehousing fleet management and transportation operations.
-Ability to relate effectively with the board, other staff, volunteers, agency representatives, the media and the general public.
-Ability to complete work in an accurate, effective and timely manner.
-Ability to perform physical labor as necessary to assist in achieving the organization’s mission.

Feeding The Gulf Coast serves the seven western counties of the Florida Panhandle, Coastal Alabama and Coastal Mississippi. The Food Bank's main warehouse is in Theodore, Alabama and a branch warehouse in Milton, Florida as well as a SNAP/Child Nutrition office in Gulfport, Mississippi. It operates state-wide SNAP activities in Alabama and Mississippi. In conducts Child Nutrition Programs throughout the 24 county service area in all three states. The year-round staff is 75 and distribution exceeds 25 million pounds annually.
