Description

We are currently hiring a full-time Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations promotes, manages, and expands Food Lifeline’s relationships with many institutional partners across western Washington. The position is responsible for leading a high-performing team and implementing successful strategies to support revenue targets and larger department goals. This is a revenue-generating position that reports to the Chief Development Officer.

Job responsibilities

• Implement ambitious corporate and foundation development strategy (annual and long term); with defined goals, identified risks and targets for revenue growth.

• Directly responsible for building and maintaining a high-level portfolio with an individual fundraising goal

• Actively participate in fundraising, strategy and department development as a member of the Development Leadership Team

• Create new partnership development goals that ensure partnership development is a priority for staff, board and other volunteers.

• Serve as liaison to other departments to support development of strategies and engagement opportunities that will appeal to both public and private funders.

• Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and a daily commitment to Food Lifeline’s mission of ending hunger in western Washington which is centered in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

• Research, develop, and implement innovative stewardship and engagement opportunities for corporate and foundation partners

• Actively participate in departmental and organizational strategic planning, budgeting, and professional development of staff

• Support staff, corporate volunteers, and community members interested in doing activities and creating events that benefit Food Lifeline, i.e., Workplace Giving Programs, 3rd Party Events, Food and Fund Drives, and Corporate Promotions/Cause Marketing.

• Lead the recruitment and coordination of volunteer committee members, volunteer ambassadors, and executive leaders for Food Frenzy, as well as other corporate opportunities, e.g., sponsorship, corporate promotions/cause marketing, etc.

• Accountable for achieving team revenue targets and activity goals, i.e., in-person meetings and contacts by phone, email, and social media platforms, e.g., Linked-in and Twitter.

• Enter action reports add relationships, and research/update biographical/corporate information. Collaborate with Data Services to monitor, analyze and report on targets.

Application qualifications

• Personal lived experience of systemic hunger and/or its root causes preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience fundraising for a nonprofit with a specific focus on building corporate partnerships and managing grant programs.

• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.

• Experience with fundraising software such as Raiser’s Edge, Greater Giving, and peer-to-peer online tools preferred.

Benefits

Medical, Dental, and Vision 100% paid by Food Lifeline. Salary $83,000 - $90,000.

About the organization

Food Lifeline is a Seattle-based nonprofit working to feed people experiencing while working to end hunger for tomorrow. We source and procure over 50M lbs. of food each year from farmers, manufacturers, and retailers, sorted and repacked, warehoused, and shipped at our Hunger Solution Center by a team of talented warehousing professionals and over 17K volunteers each year. Food Lifeline provides this food to more than 300 food pantries, shelters, and meal programs across Western Washington. This work, combined with our advocacy, policy, and community partnerships, creates a sustainable approach to ending hunger in our region.

Additional information

Secondary Functions:

• As needed, support major Food Lifeline campaigns and events such as Savor, Dress Down Hunger and the Taste of the NFL Kick Hunger Challenge, including occasional nights and weekends.

• Recruitment and Management of Seasonal Interns for Corporate Team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including skill in using computer software designed for the not-for-profit setting, such as Raiser’s Edge.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting multiple deadlines.

• Ability to use good judgment to make sound decisions and resolve problems.

• Ability to maintain confidential information and use discretion.

• Ability to gain the cooperation of others; work effectively as a member of a team, and ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships in a team-oriented environment.

• Have exceptional written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills, with proven public speaking experience.
