More than 65 million pounds of food flow through our operation every year, feeding hungry families in our surrounding communities. Our small and mighty team of 100+ employees across four locations, collectively serves 30 counties in Colorado and the entire state of Wyoming. We provide more than 145,000 meals each day to our friends and neighbors facing hunger.
The Over the Road Class A Driver is responsible for delivering and picking up food product from various locations in the Denver metro area, northwest Colorado and Wyoming. Tuesday thru Friday, with some overnights, and local pickups on Saturdays.
This position is responsible for ensuring that all deliveries are in accordance with Feeding America requirements and FBR policies. This role regularly interacts with volunteers, partner agencies and the general public.
What You’ll Do:
Loads the truck with outbound food product according to delivery specifications and within FBR policies
Drives OTR routes to deliver food product to the respective locations in northwest Colorado and Wyoming 2-3 days per week; approximately four (4) overnight trips per month. Over the road during the week Tuesday thru Friday and local pickups on Saturdays.
Unloads and loads food at the respective location working closely with the FBR team, partner agencies and/or volunteers
Is responsible for maintaining food distribution in accordance with FBR and Feeding America standards
Assists with breaking down pallets, disposing of waste and collection or recyclable materials during and after each distribution
Responsible for maintaining driver logs on Fleetmatics, vehicle inspection and other maintenance schedules according to DOT regulations
May assist with warehouse duties; record keeping, waste, inventory counts and sanitation, equipment, building and grounds
Maintains an organized, clean and sanitized cab, cargo area and food handling equipment
Maintains receipts, invoices and other required paperwork for each site
Maintains food industry standards and certification for proper product handling, storage, and warehouse sanitation
Assist with all necessary record keeping of inventory, surplus, and waste; as well as assisting with inventory physical counts
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
School diploma or equivalent required
Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and excellent driving record
Minimum 2 years’ prior experience as Commercial Driver
Prior experience working in a warehouse environment strongly preferred
Forklift experience and certification a plus
