Description

Employee is responsible for supporting Mobile Market Program Manager and helping to build Maryland Food Bank (MFB) relationships and program effectiveness throughout our Mobile Market Program. This includes oversight of partner Certificates of Agreement, identifying distribution site locations, event scheduling, and program site staff training. This position will play an active role in organization-wide planning, program development and policy management, fostering a positive identity for the MFB, engaging community partners, and supporting the effective distribution of food to areas of need.

Job responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
80% Mobile Market Program Oversight: In collaboration with Mobile Market Program Manager,
provide day to day oversight of Mobile Market Program. Develop relationships with partnering site representatives and social service providers offering client support services. Coordinate schedules and plan activities in response to county-level priorities and regional goals. Track and report statistical information regarding Mobile Market program, including client intake, volunteer recruitment, and food distribution. Provide volunteer oversight and direction during Mobile Market Events.

20% Administrative/Program Support: Manage the collaborative efforts of, volunteers, and community resource providers to ensure program optimization. Support Mobile Market Program Manager and Regional Program Directors (RPDs)in reaching regional goals with emphasis on systems improvement through effective training, detailed planning, and partner/client service relations. Assist with tracking program related grants and maintaining program accounts for accuracy.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Working Conditions:
Work Environment:
The employee will carry out job duties from inside a professional office environment with little fluctuation in temperatures and low noise. Employee will also carry out job duties in the field, outdoors at mobile market site locations across 4 regions: Northern, Southern, Western and Baltimore City. For offsite duties, the employee is expected to travel by automobile and will be exposed to changing weather and noise conditions.

Travel:
Travel of 2-3 days per week is expected to successfully perform this role. A valid driver’s license is required as well as an MVR showing no prior DUI/DWI’s and fewer than 2 points against the license. The ability to read, write and speak English is required.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, during activities and events requiring the need to travel, safety measures must be adhered to for all occasions.

Non-Essential Functions:
The following are non-essential functions of the position:
• Represents the Maryland Food Bank at meetings and other related functions, as necessary.
• Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Application qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree is required for this position.

Experience:
At least five (5) years of experience in a customer-service related role, plus three (3) years of experience in project management and coordination. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including developing and delivering presentations. Goal oriented with a strategic mindset and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously. Experience in project management from initiating and planning to executing, tracking, following up on issues and reporting. Proven success in contributing to the development and implementation of process improvements. Excellent interpersonal, networking, and problem-solving skills. Strong customer focus. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
