The Manager, Employee Relations will contribute to the mission, vision and values of Houston Food Bank by:
Leading and supporting the HR Director in developing the Employee Relations strategy for the organization by designing, implementing and developing an Employee Relations model that is aligned with business needs.
Leading the implementation of a wide range of leading-edge employee engagement initiatives within the organization, with the main objective of building and developing a positive work environment, while supporting the overall strategies and goals of the organization.
Working closely with key stakeholders across the organization, you will act as an expert in employee relations diagnosing issues and setting out with clarity, desired outcomes through appropriate resolution strategies in a timely manner.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field. Ten (10) years’ progressive experience in multiple Human Resource areas. Five (5) years’ experience in Employee Relations.
Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others. Ability to accurately prepare and maintain files, reports, and records. Ability to effectively plan and delegate the responsibilities of others. Organizational skills in managing projects simultaneously while maintaining a satisfactory work product. Ability to implement new systems and procedures and to evaluate their effectiveness. Ability to develop objectives, evaluate effectiveness, and assess needs. Ability to develop, interpret, and evaluate policies and procedures. Skill in public speaking and delivering presentations to individuals and groups. Strong problem-solving abilities. Able to coordinate well with other departments and personnel. Ability to represent the Food Bank in a professional manner under a variety of conditions. Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and to work independently with minimum supervision while utilizing good judgment and discretion.
