Utah Food Bank is currently looking to hire a Branch Director for our Southern Distribution Center located in St. George, Utah.

Job responsibilities

The Branch Director reports directly to the CEO/President and is responsible for the overall administration and management of a Utah Food Bank Distribution Center.

-Drive results and outcomes for the Distribution Center by overseeing and increasing the development of the Distribution Center, including; programs, volunteer base, local donors, product donations, etc.
-Oversee daily Distribution Center operations; including logistics, scheduling, delivery, transportation, dock activity, storage, security and all warehouse procedures
-Responsible for developing relationships and interfacing with the community; school boards, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, etc.
-Oversee branch resources to ensure budget compliance and fiscal integrity
-Train staff in and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, policies and procedures from UFB, AIB and Feeding America
-Oversee and ensure an accurate inventory and assist in a physical inventory process, as needed
-Provide assistance to agencies served by Distribution Center as needed and/or requested
-Maintain agency files and audits for Distribution Center agencies in coordination with Operations Manager
-Responsible for government commodities program (i.e. TEFAP, CSFP) for Distribution Center
-Provide accurate time cards and payroll approval to Finance for bi-monthly pay periods
-Responsible for developing new agencies in Distribution Center service area as directed, including; mobile pantries, school mobiles and summer feeding programs
-Develop mobile pantry and summer feeding programs. Train coordinators and develop solicitation plan and implementation for needed volunteers in coordination with the Operations Manager
-Coordinate drivers and scheduling in conjunction with Operations Manager
-Assist in food sourcing in Distribution Center as needed
-Provide monthly reports on Distribution Center operations in an accurate and timely manner
-Work with UFB Officers on annual budget for Distribution Center in accordance with UFB goals
-Represent UFB in Distribution Center through media, events, promotions, and other applicable venues in cooperation with UFB Officers
-Responsible for maintain vehicle, equipment and building audit/maintenance records Responsible for maintaining Southern Distribution vehicle fleet, coordinating with Salt Lake location when needed
-Responsible for the overall energy and morale of the Branch
-Assist in fund solicitation and development in Distribution Center as directed by UFB Officers
-Assist with local events
-Other duties as assigned

Application qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Related Degree or proven equivalent experience in a comparable role
-Experience with a non-profit organization is very desirable
-Excellent management skills and a proven track record of managing, developing and leading a highly motivated work force
-Self-directed and able to work effectively without supervision
-Excellent time management and organization skills; excellent interpersonal skills
-Demonstrated ability to plan, research and organize workflow and to supervise staff
-Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing
-Strong public relations and public speaking skills
-Strong fiscal management skills
-Able to work with people from a wide variety of social and economic backgrounds and cultures
-A good driving record and a current and valid Utah Driver License
-Knowledge and training in Health, Safety, D.O.T. and OSHA requirements
-Good computing skills including working knowledge of Windows, Word, and Excel
-High professional and ethical standards

Physical Requirements:
This position works in both office and warehouse environments. Some local travel may be required to other facilities with occasional out-of-state travel. It requires use of general office equipment such as telephone, computers, calculators, fax and copiers. Branch Manager will periodically spend time with drivers on routes and observing and working with warehouse staff. Some lifting may be required when working with staff and candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs.
