Development Manager


The Development Manager is responsible for successfully managing and executing development functions for Food Bank of Wyoming. This position is responsible for identifying, prospecting, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual and corporate donors. This position will be responsible for representing the work of Food Bank of Wyoming throughout the state to enhance fundraising efforts.

Job responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Actively manage a portfolio of individual and corporate donors and prospects, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Manage and implement sponsorship and recognition strategies for corporate donors and ensure deliverables are met.
Grow the Feed365 monthly giving program.
Provide strategy, communication, and revenue tracking to support peer-to-peer activities such as virtual food drives, donor-driven events, and social media fundraisers.
Manage Food Bank of Wyoming's giving levels and ensure benefits are delivered.
Responsible for meeting and exceeding annual revenue goals.
Maintain accurate records in the database of record on donor moves and background notes.
Represent Food Bank of Wyoming's mission with genuine passion and professionalism.
Work as a cross-functional team member to promote Food Bank of Wyoming's brand/message to potential donors, the community, and staff.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Commitment to fulfilling the Food Bank of Wyoming mission and positively representing the brand both internally and externally
Demonstrated personal leadership coupled with strong team orientation, exemplary project management skills, and a high customer service focus;
Ability to build highly collaborative partnerships with Food Bank of Wyoming and Food Bank of the Rockies staff, Board, community, and potential funders;
Knowledge of best practices in development, including moves management and individual solicitation, corporate partnerships, and promotions;
Strong communication skills that are effective across a variety of constituencies;
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, able to multi-task multiple assignments


Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Two years or more fundraising experience preferred
Experience in Raiser's Edge, Bloomerang, or another fundraising database; knowledge and experience in Blackbaud's TeamRaiser highly desired

About Food Bank of the Rockies

Founded in 1978, Food Bank of the Rockies was originally known as the Colorado Food Clearing House. Operating from a 900-square-foot schoolroom in northwest Denver, the fledgling organization collected bread from a nearby Safeway store, our first food donor, and distributed it to Little Sisters of the Poor, our first partner agency. Today, Food Bank of the Rockies has extended its reach across northern Colorado, providing food and supplies to more than 800 hunger-relief programs.

Since 1978, Food Bank of the Rockies has provided more than 700 million meals for people in need. So far in 2021, through our direct service programs and partners, we have distributed over 66 million pounds of food, the equivalent of nearly 54 million meals annually or 226,000 meals every day to children, seniors and families in need. Food Bank of the Rockies is a member of Feeding America and of Feeding Colorado, a consortium of the five food banks operating in Colorado.

Food Bank of the Rockies has a staff of 180 employees at distribution centers in Denver, Wyoming and the Western Slope.
