Description

The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) is looking for an experienced Database Administrator in our Strategic Insights Center of Excellence to manage Ceres, a food bank specific software enterprise resource planning (ERP) system that supports supply chain data and management from food sourcing to storage to distribution. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Insights, the perfect candidate is able to standardize and maximize CTFB’s use of Ceres to support smooth supply chain operations, as well as increase data integrity and data reporting capacity on CTFB’s inventory data. This position is based in Austin with a hybrid in-person/remote working arrangement.

Job responsibilities

As the Ceres Database Administrator, you will primarily work on
Systems Administration:
*Overall administration, monitoring, issue management, and production for Ceres, including user account management, system configuration, batch updates, and data migration
*Review database design and integration and make decisions regarding enhancements or improvements with current software providers and reporting systems
*Document the implementation of new processes and procedures
*Support and improve on the transition to a barcoding system and integration with other warehouse management systems
*Monitor systems maintenance notices, upgrades and impacts across systems

System Operations:
*Lead the development of policies and procedures for optimal data integrity, analysis, reporting, and compliance with ERP system best practices. Implement these policies across different teams that interact with Ceres
*Work with different stakeholder groups to deliver necessary builds including customizations and workflows
*Ensure data integrity and data privacy by developing and revising, as needed, organizational standards and policies related to database access and use
*Provide training, support, and direction to various teams and staff members to develop reports, tools, queries, and to support new initiatives

Application qualifications

You are a great candidate if you have:
*Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Minimum of three years (3+) experience in database management including builds, queries, report design, and delivery in Ceres or a similar type of ERP
*Experience with food sourcing and/or warehouse procedures
*Demonstrate 10 key knowledge of an ERP/MRP system
*Desire to continuously learn about and monitor product marketplace and solutions to deliver quality user experience and implement latest best practices
*Proven track record with providing effective training
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate technical solutions to non-data stakeholders
*Passion for documenting procedures and processes
*Self-motivation and ability to work to tight deadlines
*Demonstrates good judgment and discretion
*Ability to work on multiple priorities at the same time; be flexible to adapt or shift priorities according to organizational needs
*Strong project management and collaboration skills
*Strong analytical thinking, conflict management, and problem-solving skills

Bonus points for:
*System implementation and project management experience
*Experience with reporting from relational databases or a business intelligence reporting platform such as Jet Analytics
*Experience in Food Banking and/or nonprofit environment
