The Data Systems Coordinator (DSC) position is a unique opportunity to support network food bank staff in the implementation and use of client intake and reporting software to document applications and referrals to external providers. The Data Systems Coordinator will be responsible for training and onboarding new staff and trouble-shooting system issues. The DSC is responsible for identifying business process improvements, creating and delivering training, creating and delivering process documentation, and creating supporting content for all client tracking software applications.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, familiar with client tracking software, task-oriented, and reliable. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in connecting Texans experiencing hunger to the food and resources they need to thrive.
Job expectations for the Data Systems Coordinator include:
Ensuring food bank staff are trained in the use of client intake and reporting software to document applications and referrals.
Monitoring food bank partners’ use of software and troubleshooting issues.
Assigning all application help desk tickets through IT ticketing system, and resolving issues.
Evaluating accuracy and efficacy of data input by food banks and modifying data elements and procedures as needed to ensure effectiveness.
Working with Software provider to create useful edits to the software.
Working with food bank application assistance, IT, operations and other departments as needed.
Maintaining files with required documentation and updating database for monthly reporting.
Working with business process owners and departmental supervisors/managers to implement business process changes.
Creating process documentation, training materials, and FAQ documents for users of software.
Working with IT and department managers to coordinate enhancements.
Serving as first line quality assurance on all new enhancements.
Serving as a training resource for users on all new processes.
Attending industry conferences and conducting proactive product research.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience related to information technology
Experience with client tracking applications and software
Progressively responsible experience that includes software troubleshooting, customer service and training of groups in use of specific software.
Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment.
Valid drivers’ license and reliable transportation.
Able to occasionally work after hours or weekends as needed.

The Feeding Texas Social Services Outreach team administers the SNAP Application Assistance Program on behalf of our 21 member food banks. Our team trains food bank staff to assist people in applying for SNAP and other public benefits, as well as to offer referrals to other services. The Social Services team provides contract oversight, quality assurance, technical assistance, program evaluation, and comprehensive training to strengthen food bank capacity to assist Texans in need.
