As the Benefits Outreach Specialist, you could have the ability to make a direct change in people’s lives when they need it the most. We are looking for someone positive, efficient, and detail-oriented to administer assistance (Food Stamps, Kidcare, EITC, WIC, and Medicaid) to people at various locations in the Fort Pierce area. The Benefits Outreach Specialist offers guidance through understanding benefits and acts as a liaison for future client follow-up and communication.

Job responsibilities

-Provide a detailed explanation of the benefits available
-Assist those eligible with online applications for Kidcare, Food Stamps, Medicaid & Earned Income Tax Credit
-Perform as liaison for future client follow-up and communication.
-Outreach to working economically disadvantaged families, seniors, and immigrant populations.
-Ongoing monitoring of Federal and State policy to ensure barriers and opportunities are being communicated to the Manager.
-Maintain and update records and reports for all applications produced.
-Maintain proper communication with partners, including ACCESS Florida and the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Application qualifications

-Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
-One year of equivalent outreach experience.
-Commitment to understanding and supporting TCFB’s mission; show compassion and an appreciation for hunger issues.
-Proper and effective communication skills to communicate with partner agencies and those in need of the Earned Benefits Outreach Program
-Excellent organization skills.
-Computer and web application literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
-Bi-lingual is preferred. (Spanish, Creole)
-Ability to utilize provided a laptop for research and application processes.
-Willingness to travel to various St. Lucie locations.
-Standing, walking, and traveling as needed.
-Reliable insured vehicle.
-Successfully pass pre-employment drug test screening, Level II Background Check and driving record check.
