“I'm so glad that 'The Biggest Loser' gave me the opportunity to learn more about Feeding America. It is such an amazing organization, and all the people involved are doing a great job addressing the issue of hunger on all fronts. I am so honored to join the Entertainment Council and continue to give my support, any way I can.”
Alison Sweeney is busy juggling the roles of host for NBC’s hit reality series “The Biggest Loser” and award-winning actress Sami Brady on NBC’s hit daytime drama “Days of our Lives” with releasing her first novel, “The Star Attraction,” and with her roles as producer, director, wife and mother.
Sweeney, who is hosting her eleventh consecutive season of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser,” leads the hit reality series in transforming the lives of show contestants and television viewers worldwide. No stranger to the camera, Sweeney began her acting career at age 4. At 16-years-old, Sweeney joined the cast of “Days of our Lives,” where she celebrated her 20th anniversary with the show in January 2013. In the role of “Sami Brady,” her character has tackled controversial storylines including bulimia, date rape, teen pregnancy, and capital punishment. During the past few years at “Days of our Lives,” Sweeney has also added director to her long list of credits.
Sweeney is also an accomplished author with her first penned novel, THE STAR ATTRACTION, to be released by Hyperion on May 14, 2013. In The Star Attraction, Hollywood publicist, Sophie, seemingly has it all – a glamorous job working with A-list talent and a gorgeous, stable long-term boyfriend. But, when a handsome client starts monopolizing her time and thoughts, will Sophie’s perfect life come crumbling down around her? Sweeney’s previous book, THE MOMMY DIET, reveals the “diet” of nutrition, fitness and self-care that women can follow to look and feel fantastic – before and during pregnancy, and after giving birth. The Mommy Diet focuses on ways to get and keep physical and mentally healthy, while offering ways to slim down after having a child in a positive, attainable way.
