Volunteers helping out at a mobile pantry

Over 2 million volunteers gave their time to help out hungry Americans across the nation.

According to Hunger in America 2014, 2 million people helped carry out our vision for a hunger-free America by working in a food bank, feeding program or meal service. Volunteers are key to our efforts and keeping costs down for these programs. Volunteers are sometimes the backbone of these services and provide the first contact for people in need.

Volunteers in Feeding America network of food banks alone provided almost 10 million hours of work. That is equivalent to hiring almost 5,000 extra full-time employees!

Ever thought about giving time? Contact your local food bank to get started. Your help will be most appreciated.
