On behalf of Feeding America, we express our heartfelt sympathies to the people of Charlottesville, the family of Heather Heyer and the people who came to protest hate-filled speech and blatant expressions of bigotry and racism.
Our country is grounded in principles of equality and fairness, and while our democracy continues on this journey, it has proven resilient when we have come together and rejected attempts to undermine these fundamental principles. We at Feeding America work every day to offer hope and opportunity to others. We aspire to do this work with confidence and belief in a nation that seeks always to render aid to neighbor and stranger alike, living together in a community of mutual respect regardless of our differences.
We stand now with the Charlottesville community, and with all who share in our nation’s commitment to equal justice, fair treatment, and the common good. We rise to a shared belief in the value of each and every individual, and we are proud to serve an organization that acts on that belief.
