Forbes ranks Feeding America as 3rd largest U.S. Charity with 99% fundraising efficiency

December 10, 2014

We got some great news over at Feeding America this month - Forbes published its annual ranking of the largest U.S. charities and Feeding America was listed in the 3rd spot, with $1.86 billion in private gifts. That was a 23% increase in gifts over the previous year! And, we could never have done it without all of our donors. Thank you to all supporters of Feeding America.

Forbes also noted that Feeding America has a 99% fundraising efficiency rating, which means by their calculations, it cost us 1 cent to raise $1 in private donations, and that we have a 98% charitable commitment rating, showing that 98 cents of every $1 gift goes right back into programs that help feed people facing hunger. You can read more about how they calculate these rating in this article, How to Evaluate a Charity.

I’m proud to work at the nation’s largest and most efficient hunger-relief charity, and I hope that you continue to be a proud supporter!
