What if you did not know where you next meal was coming from? How would this lack of access to enough nutritious food effect your health?
As National Nutrition Month® officially comes to a close, we are excited to announce the release of a resource that can be used throughout the year to expand on this this month’s conversations. Illuminating Intersections: Hunger and Health is a short, public video developed by Feeding America that creatively illustrates the research and narrative regarding the intersections of food insecurity, nutrition and health. This conversation is complex and lengthy, and requires participation by numerous sectors. The video aims to provide a foundation for understanding these intersections while illuminating how we all are a link in the solution.
To encourage and support conversations accompanying this video, we have developed a discussion guide and toolkit that is available on HealthyFoodBankHub.org. It is geared to be used by community partners and supporters of food security, nutrition and health professionals, social workers, food banks and pantries and others interested in exploring and expanding upon solutions to addressing food insecurity and health. The guide and toolkit is comprised of:
Together we can solve hunger while promoting health.
