‘Tis the season for celebrated traditions, like eating milk and cookies or drinking a cozy cup of hot cocoa with family and friends.
As you gather with loved ones this season, don't just get together – give together. Feeding America member food banks have a limited supply of milk throughout the year and that’s also true during the holiday season. In fact, families served by food banks receive the equivalent of less than one gallon of milk per person per year, on average.
With this limited supply, it leaves the people Feeding America serves without the opportunity to celebrate holiday traditions that most Americans take for granted.
More than 46 million Americans – including 12 million children – rely on Feeding America member food banks, and far too often, milk isn’t available. The good news is that you can help make the holiday season brighter for families facing hunger with the gift of milk by donating to The Great American Milk Drive Holiday Give Together.
The Great American Milk Drive is the first-ever national program to help deliver highly desired and nutrient-rich gallons of milk to families who need it most. To date, more than 8.5 million servings of nutrient-rich milk have been delivered to people Feeding America serves because of generous donors like you.
