Once a month, I take a few hours out of my day and volunteer at a local pantry in my neighborhood where fresh produce is the star of the show on the third Monday of every month. I volunteered to staff the bread station and pass out loaves of bread to clients. As a young woman approached me, I asked her just one simple question.

Whether it is one person taking a few hours out of their weekend to volunteer, or a classroom holding a food drive, all of these actions make it possible for us to feed 37 million people in need each year.

At Feeding America we talk a lot about the power of the Network - that's the combined strength of our over 200 food banks working together to help fight hunger in their communities. But to see it in action is really something special.
