Three years ago today, I became an Aunt for the first time. Being an Aunt to my nephew is an awesome thing. I get to give fun presents; I get to have Skype dates with him, even though he is much more interested in seeing my dog than me, and every time I see him I'm shocked by how much he's learned since last time.

This "dinner" meal served to children who are enrolled in the school breakfast and lunch programs is an important cog in improving learning ability and comprehension among at-risk kids. Food insecurity is a public health epidemic that affects 49 million Americans, and is particularly prevalent in our most vulnerable communities. One in five households with children are food insecure.Despite this terrible reality, some commentators continue to question whether food insecurity even exists in America. For that reason, Feeding America launched the Map the Meal Gap project. By demonstrating where food insecurity lurks in America, the project challenges people who look the other way.
